Y took a little too long to respond, his tone changeless “I’m sorry.”

The hair was placed in tin and dropped into his backpack before that was thrown over his shoulder.

“You’re probably extremely busy. I’ll go.”

He watched the other in a haze that blended interest and disinterest together, one becoming the other, and found himself dissatisfied with the way how things were turning out.

He hadn’t proved anything, nor had the conversation led anywhere; it wasn’t satisfactory, especially since many things had gone unanswered.

He found himself leaving his place from the wall and walking toward him, not hurrying, but quick enough so that one step resonated in the sound of the other.
